• Concept of Employment. The combat engineer battalion is organized to provide one combat engineer company in support of an infantry regiment and associated task elements. For smaller MAGTF operations, the combat engineer battalion will provide reinforced units to the GCE. Normally, a reinforced combat engineer platoon will support a battalion landing team. The princ ipal audience for thi s manual is engineer leaders, commanders, noncommissioned o fficers, and staff officers, but all Army leaders benefit from reading it.
