Hi folks, I'm restoring a Heathkit IM The unit has been recapped tested all the resistors and they are within the range. I think the person before me had also done some restoration on it. But I had the issue where the needle of the meter goes half way and then keeps shaking at that. Heathkit IM I recently obtained a IM in Excellent condition. I went ahead replaced the electrolytic and tubular capacitors, checked the wiring, solder connections etc. The unit powers up, the tubes glow, the meter does an initial upswing and eventually stabilizes after about 15 minutes or so to where i can zero it. It is our intent to service the secondary Heathkit market by providing manual copies, spare parts, and repair service.
